BLUM TOUR

As a special guest of Blum Australia, I and 21 other Aussies were privileged to have been invited to take part in a week-long tour.

 

Starting with a spectacular dinner at the Prada Foundation, we first met the Blum Australia team and the fellow travellers on the tour.

 

Then, three days later we all convened again and began the first of five amazing days together. 

 

With the focal point being the Blum factory tour, we were able to fully appreciate the care and attention that goes into every aspect of the production system.

 

However, the organisers also thoughtfully organised other activities and we were so lucky to get to visit two of Peter Zumptor’s designs, the Bregenz gallery and the Work….in Egg.

 

A dinner with the owner of Blum, Philip Blum, was a memorable evening, and a great chance to meet the Asia Pacific team.

 

With too many highlights to mention, the takeaway was how craft and commitment, both in design and manufacturing are the true foundations to any great build.
